Tertiary-Level Institutions

RafflesEducation’s platform of higher education institutions includes four tertiary-level institutions that are strategically located in Australia, China, India and Malaysia. In March 2013, the Group signed an investment agreement with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka to establish Raffles University Sri Lanka. These tertiary-level institutions validate the extraordinary academic development and pedagogical advancement of the Group, driven by its overarching aim to provide high quality education across its network of institutions.

Raffles College of Design and Commerce

Raffles College of Design and Commerce (“RCDC”) has a history of over 35 years in Sydney, offering Bachelor courses in several fields of Design. RCDC also offers Diploma programmes and Certificate courses that lead to Bachelor degrees.

RCDC is registered with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) in Australia. The degrees awarded by RCDC comply with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), are accredited by the Australian Government through TEQSA, and are recognised by both Australian and international universities.

RCDC graduates are often sought after by potential employers, even before graduation, because of their excellent industry knowledge and skills. The curriculum, taught by industry professionals, continually keeps pace with current industry demands.

In August 2014, RafflesEducation acquired 22,000 square feet of land and a six-storey building at 1-3 Fitzwilliam Street in Parramatta, New South Wales (NSW) which will be developed into a permanent campus site for RCDC. Parramatta is about 24 kilometres from the Sydney’s central business district and within the western suburbs of Sydney. Western Sydney is a large and dynamic region, characterised by a young and diverse community, a strong economy and a unique natural environment.

The new campus will be conveniently located within a one minute walk from the major Parramatta railway station (an interchange for both suburban commuting and intercity services), main transport hub for buses and taxis, the largest Westfield Shopping Centre in NSW and several NSW Government offices.

Tianjin University of Commerce Boustead College

Tianjin University of Commerce Boustead College (“Boustead College”) was officiated in October 2002 to provide skills training programmes that lead to tertiary qualifications which are nationally and internationally recognised.

Boustead College offers Degree programmes in Business Administration, Computer Science and Information Technology as well as Literature and Arts. The campus in Tianjin was refurbished in 2013 with additional amenities and facilities for students and academics to enjoy a conducive learning and living environment.

Millennium International University (JRE Group of Institutions)

The partnership with Educomp includes the development of Millennium International University (“MIU”) at a 44-acre site in Greater Noida, Delhi NCR, India.

The first phase of the campus was completed in August 2011. MIU received its first batch of students for its Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (“PGDM”) and Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (“B. Tech Engineering”) programmes in August 2011. The PGDM is considered to be the equivalent of a Master of Business Administration (“MBA”) programme that offers three tracks in the key areas of Marketing, Finance and Human Resources. To meet the huge demand for engineers in India, the B. Tech Engineering programmes, which are affiliated with Mahamaya Technical University, offer specialisations in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

All current programmes and facilities at MIU are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (“AICTE”), an Indian statutory body and national-level council for technical education. MIU has applied for university status and is awaiting all relevant regulatory approvals.

Raffles University Iskandar

In 2011, RafflesEducation established Raffles University Iskandar (“RUI”), its 80:20 joint venture (“JV”) with Education@Iskandar Sdn Bhd (“EISB”), a member of the Iskandar Investment Group. RUI, estimated to cost RM 200 million, is located in EduCity, Iskandar Malaysia (“EduCity@Iskandar”) and is the Group’s government-approved university in its portfolio of colleges of higher education.

RUI is a comprehensive private university, providing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which include Design, Business Administration, Accountancy, Education Management and Applied Psychology. The RUI campus is located in EduCity@Iskandar – an area that is secure and holds promising potential in both economic and cultural developments. Its strategic location, together with the successful history of RafflesEducation’s programmes, will serve RUI students well in a promising and vibrant environment.

RUI is currently operating out of leased premises at Kotaraya, Johor Bahru, while its permanent campus in EduCity@Iskandar is being built. The 65-acre campus, complete with state-of-the-art facilities, hostels and amenities, is expected to be ready in 2014/2015.
